What ClassSeats Is (and What It Isn’t)

ClassSeats is your desktop dashboard and mobile sidekick for seating, grouping, attendance, student notes, and reports. It’s designed for real classroom use—fast, flexible, and under your control.

What ClassSeats helps you do

  • Create, manage, and print a class roster
  • Build seating arrangements, assign seats, and print seating charts
  • Generate student groups using student preferences and your constraints
  • Take attendance during class and generate attendance reports
  • Track student behavior and produce behavior reports
  • Record quick notes you can review later
  • Organize Google Drive files for each student
  • Learn your students’ names

What ClassSeats is not

  • It is not a gradebook.
  • It does not automatically message parents or students.
  • It does not sell or share student data.

About Google Drive

Connecting your Google Drive is optional. When connected, ClassSeats syncs your ClassSeats file to your Google Drive and makes it available on other devices, including mobile. If Google Drive is not connected, your data stays on your computer.

If you’re brand new

  1. Create a seating arrangement
  2. Create your first class
  3. Add students to the class
  4. Create groups when you’re ready
Tip You don’t need to set everything up at once. Many teachers build their setup over a few sessions.
